Jack E. Boynton is a Michigan native and a principal at Calcutt Rogers & Boynton. Jack graduated from Albion College (A.B. 1968), and served in the U.S. Army from 1969-71. He earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1973 from the University of Michigan law school. Since 1973, he has been admitted to practice law in both Michigan and United States Federal Courts, and has appeared in trial courts and all appellate courts of the State of Michigan, and in Federal Bankruptcy and District Courts and Circuit court of Appeals.
Form 1990 through 1997, Jack served as a City Commissioner for the City of Traverse City and was elected Mayor of Traverse City in 1994. From 2001 to 2006 he served on Traverse City’s Downtown Development Authority Board of Trustees. He has served as a representative for the 13th Judicial Circuit on the Representative Assembly of the State Bar of Michigan, and in 1994 he was elected a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation.
Mr. Boynton holds memberships in a number of professional societies or associations including the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim County Bar Association. He is a member of the Real Property and Environmental Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan.
Mr. Boynton’s areas of practice include: Real Estate, Land Use and Development, Environmental, Commercial, Creditor’s Rights, Bankruptcy and Media Law, and Civil Litigation.
